Melodifestivalen!

Melodifestivalen which is Sweden's national selection for Eurovision song contest will start this saturday! I can't wait! It is a very famous Tv show where singers compete in I think 4 semi finals. 2 artist with most votes will be sent to the final and 2 other songs will be sent to the second chance which is before the final. That is the last chance for us to vote which 2 songs we want to send to the final ^^ I really like the concept where SVT let us pick the songs compare to most countries where their broadcasts just pick a random song xP The thing that I find adorable is that not only swedes watch this x3 people from most of all Europe watch and follow it too.

One singer that I and most of us are is Helena Paparizou She has competed in Eurovision two times representing Greece in 2001 and 2005 where she won with her awesome song "Number one" And now she will fight to represent Sweden She is actually half swedish ^^

And of course the winner of Melodifestivalen will represent Sweden in esc. This year the host country is Denmark since they won last year. 

This will be the theme for Esc. The slogan is "Join us" I really like it but the hashtag is just too weird, it's like they are turning Eurovision into an internet event xP mixed feelings about the diamond. People says it's a copy of the sims and X-factor. Of course nothing will beat SVT's butterfly ;D

But other than that I think Dr1 will put up a good show ^^

Another thing is that all countries except for big five (Uk, Spain, France, Germany and Italy) plus Denmark are already qualified for the final (since they pay so much money and Denmark host it). But the rest of us will have to go through a semi final. During the two semi finals 10 countries with the most votes will be sent to the final. 

They have now draw where each country will be in the semi finals and also what half. After all the countries songs has been revealed Dr1 will decide their start number. Because of neighbour voting inside the Nordic region Dr1 has split up Sweden and Norway which they did in November last year. Fan! Now we can't rely on our norwegian friends </3 at least we have Iceland and also Denmark will be allowed to vote in our semi so we have good support all we need is a good song ^^

37 countries will participate with 3/4 of the balkans has withdrawn x'D but a fun thing is that Poland and Portugal are now back one country that I miss is Turkey :/ they has sent so many good songs but doesn't seem like they will come back. 

If you are a shipper in Hetalia I recomand you to watch the voting procedure This is where we show our love to our neighbours <3 this happened last year, we were so happy to get one 12 points from Norway <3 x'D some years have more bloc voting than others.
